Committee Meeting - Support Group

Meeting others in a Support Group

After one’s discharge from hospital or rehab centre, there can be a feeling of isolation and - “no one I meet outside my family, totally understands my condition, even my family are puzzled why I am still struggling”. The answer for you may be as simple as coming to a GBS/CIDP Assoc Support Group meeting. Come with your family. It is a liberating feeling to know at such meetings everyone there will know and understand what you have had and understand your situation and wishes to hear “your story”.

GBS/CIDP meetings are not only for the newly discharged patient, the GBS/CIDP extended family encompasses all who are interested and wish to share their own experiences whether it happened recently or decades ago. GBS/CIDP may be our constant companions, ever present in the back of our minds.
